One of my blog’s readers, MAVRITIVS was kind enough to do this test for me , comparing the 3 Nikon Vs at High ISO: 1 V1 , 1 V2, and 1 V3
He owns the 3 Vs and he prefers the color rendering of the V1: “it delivers more film like rendering files” as he said.
SUMMARY The V3 has more advanced features, with 18Mp instead of 10Mp for the V1, 14MP for the V2; it has a great tilt touch screen, built in flash, built in WiFi, etc… One of the things that I wished the V3 has is a built in GPS. You can add the external GP-N100 GPS module to the V3 though but it’s either the GP-N100 or the external DF-N1000 EVF , and the same applies to attaching an external flash !!! I have the GP-N100 always attached to my V1 ! Can’t do that with the V3 though …
You can check my V1 gallery HERE and my AW1 gallery HERE
Below you can see the High ISO comparison between the 3 Vs. Click on the photo for larger view.

CONCLUSION As you can see , the difference between the 3 Vs is very minimal . The V3 only advantage is that it can go up to 12,800 ISO. So , Does the V3 convince more than the V1, V2 in low light performance ? It’s for you to judge according to your needs … Personally, I might upgrade to V3 if I sell my V1 !
